Are you experiencing hearing loss signs? Maybe you cannot hear people anymore, or you strain to listen to what others are saying. Hearing loss signs help you determine if it is time to get hearing aids. When you experience signs of hearing loss, that is the indication you should see an audiologist and get hearing aids.

What causes hearing loss?

Hearing loss can result from old age because our hearing deteriorates as we grow older or result from prolonged exposure to loud noise.

Hearing loss can be hard on the people around you as it is on you. They are the people who might notice the change of behavior before you. You will find your loved ones getting frustrated with having to tell you to turn down the volume on devices or having to repeat themselves frequently.

What are the signs of hearing loss?

● Asking people to repeat themselves frequently. Maybe you are in a conversation or a discussion with work colleagues or a loved one; now and then, you find yourself disconnected from the conversation and asking them to repeat themselves. This can be irritating for both you and the people in the conversation.

● Strain to hear. Struggling to listen to what someone else is saying to you. The more you strain, the more you get tired of the conversation.

● Difficult to hear high-pitched sounds, including constants such as Z and f in speech.

● You struggle to understand conversations, especially in loud, noisy, or distracting surroundings such as crowds.

● Some sounds seem muffled or have become harder to hear

● When you speak to people over the phone, you have trouble hearing what they are saying

● You find yourself frequently turning the volume of devices up

● You experience ringing in the ears and sounds that no one around you seems to hear.

● Increased sensitivity to pain in response to specific sounds

If you are experiencing any of these hearing loss signs, it would be very wise to get yourself a hearing test, a full hearing test and medical clearance.
